Nestled in the foothills of the Appalachians, Chattanooga is a vibrant city with a rich history and culture worth exploring. From the bustling downtown area to scenic outdoor attractions, there's something for everyoneChattanooga.
And when it comes to finding the perfect place to stay, the city offers a wide variety of options, from luxury resorts to cozy boutique hotels. Let us introduce you to five of the best Chattanooga hotels that will make your stay memorable no matter how you travel. So pack your bags and dive in!
FAMILY FRIENDLY - The Chattanoogan Hotel
The Chattanoogan is part of Hilton's Curio Collection. We really like this hotel as the best family option in Chattanooga because of how spacious it is. Room. Children. To score! You're close to all the great things to do with kids in downtown Chattanooga, like the aquarium, without being in the middle of the action with people and traffic. This was great for our teen and 10 year old as we could just let them run around.
Our children are old enough that we don't have to be by their side every second, even in public places like hotels. This allowed us to hang out at the High Rail, a really well done rooftop bar with all kinds of comfortable seating. In fact, the kids eventually came out of the room to play soccer with their friends on the small lawn just below High Rails' patio.
At High Rail you can eat and we took the opportunity to order a pizza for the kids here. But we decided to eat at Forge, the best restaurant in the hotel. The Forge's chef, Chris Moore, takes great pride in the menu and the ingredients that are sourced daily.
Breakfast was a breeze at Noogans Coffee Market where we enjoyed locally sourced coffee, pastries and breakfast sandwiches. We really appreciated the convenience before exploring the city.

BEST DOWNTOWN OPTION FOR COUPLES - The Edwin Hotel

The Edwin is a boutique hotel that is unique in almost every way. Not only is this hotel known for its private art collection of over 75 original works, but the decor and ambiance of its architecture, public areas and guestrooms exude artistic taste at its best. It's called Chattanooga's Luxury Hotel for Art Lovers, and we agree. Seriously, you have to see thisGallery of imagesto know what I'm talking about. And that's just one of the reasons we've chosen The Edwin as our top couples option in the downtown area.
The Edwin is central to area attractions such as the Tennessee Aquarium, the Convention Center and the Bluff View Art District. And if you're experiencing the art vibe, visit the Hunter Museum of American Art within walking distance.
The view from the hotel is spectacular. And we recommend enjoying it at The Whiskey Thief's Terrace Bar. Here you can enjoy great, expansive views of the Tennessee River, Walnut Street Bridge, and North Shore. Fun fact - The Walnut Street Bridge was designed by Edwin Thatcher - hence the name of the hotel.
The Whiskey Thief has fantastic craft cocktails, as well as a number of small plate/snack options - and weekend brunch. But for dinner, be sure to stop by Whitebird, the Edwins' restaurant. The Whitebird offers an exquisite menu with dishes such as smoked venison and freshwater trout.
The Edwin Hotel's tasteful decor and proximity to other activities in downtown Chattanooga make it the perfect hotel for a date night.

MOST UNIQUE OPTION – The Dwell House
Also located downtown, The Dwell House wins the most unique option, largely because of its 16 themed and beautifully decorated rooms. With themes like The Flamingo, The New Yorker, and The Puzzle, whichever option you choose, your visual senses are sure to enjoy. There is agallery on the webto view each option - select the one that meets your needs.
But the Dwell House offers more than 16 uniquely decorated mid-century modern rooms. Matilda Midnight is a chic little basement bar where you can enjoy craft cocktails, wine or beer under the stars every night.
A stay at the Dwell also puts you in the center of everything in beautiful downtown Chattanooga, with many restaurants, brewpubs, and activities within walking distance.

IDEAL FOR LONG STAY - Bode Chattanooga

Why is the Bode our choice for an extended stay in Chattanooga? One word: kitchen. They offer 1, 2 and 3 bedroom suites, all with a living room and kitchen. But this is not a Residence Inn or StayBridge. This is a boutique hotel in downtown Chattanooga with class and style combined with spacious suites that allow you to live comfortably alone or with large families for extended periods of time.
For example, you won't find a cafe serving local beers, homemade pop tarts, and avocado toast in an all-suite hotel chain. And you won't find impeccably decorated chic living spaces and a craft cocktail bar, either.
The added convenience of saving some money and being able to cook lunch and dinner in the fully equipped kitchens with dishwasher, stove and refrigerator is what makes this place so worth it. And even if you don't cook whole meals, it's super convenient to have a place to store and reheat those restaurant leftovers.

PERFECT FOR A GIRLS' HOLIDAY - The Read House

The Read House is our pick for a girls' getaway, but to be honest it's pretty cool for couples too, especially for that date night experience. The Read "specializes in 1920s grandeur while catering to modern taste."
Nominated for the Condé Nast 2023 Readers' Choice Awards, The Read is ideal for a girl's escape. Wake up and order your room service breakfast, then head to the fitness center with Peloton bikes to wake you up for an early afternoon of shopping and exploring the city.
After a nice lunch, head back to the hotel for a dip in the pool, then grab a cocktail and bar & billiards before painting the city red!
It's a sophisticated 1920s-style speakeasy where the waitresses are decked out in full flapper outfits. The bar and billiards room offers great 1920s style cocktails and a full lunch and dinner menu if you prefer to linger in the hotel.
